Progress in Pictures

As promised, here are some before and after pictures of Christian. I was looking at the pictures and his progress is amazing. So here you go!

This is Christian last Friday, July 17th with tubes, intubation, tape, washcloth on his head, and an unflattering, pinkish hospital gown. Notice his eyes are turned up.

Here is Christian on Monday, July 22nd. This was the first day his eyes were finally down all the way and eyelids were open. But we still have tape all over his face.

Christian with his "dumbbells."

Yesterday, July 21st, just after surgery. Sleepy baby.

Today, Wednesday, July 22nd. The swelling had gone down and eyes are open, trach in position.

"I'm a brand new man!"

  3. Oh Shauna, his recovery to date has truly been a miracle. I knew before seeing the progress pictures, but now that I've seen them, I'm just amazed all over again! I know your little man will pull through this. It's so good to see his beautiful face again! I'm happy to see the trach working out. One of my friend's son just got his trach removed after a year, and he's doing great! Before you know it, Christian won't need his anymore! What a fighter. And sooooo cute, too! We love him! Sending you and your entire family hugs!

  9. Those pictures definitely show how much he's improving! His color is much better, his face is so beautiful and the eyes look so much more focused. I am so happy to see the before/after and I know you are loving having that sweet little face free of tape and tubes so that you can kiss every bit of those cheeks. :)

Still praying for him every day, and you, too!

  19. Shauna - i just wanted to stop in and say hi... i learned about your story from Lauren McCoy her and i went to hs together and i started seeing her updates on your amazing and beautiful little boy! i've been praying for you guys and will continue to do so!! god is amazing his glory and beauty are shining through your little boy. just remember no matter what time you are given with your son a few days a few years or a lifetime each day is beautiful and a true blessing! i may not be in the same situation as you are but my son who turns 2 in sept is a chronically ill/needy child and we could loose him to the disease he suffers from, the one thing i can tell you is DO NOT get on that bridge until you have too. don't stand near it don't and stand on it... stand with your son!! don't get on it unless you HAVE too. you are his loudest and strongest advocate! continue to be his voice!! and continue to pray!!

your son, you, your family and anyone touching your son is in our prayers!!
